Bernardo Silva has been quick to applaud Manchester City’s new arrival, Antoine Semenyo, hailing both his quality and character after an electric start in sky blue.
Speaking after City’s latest cup success, Silva highlighted how seamlessly the Ghanaian forward has fitted into Pep Guardiola’s squad, praising his attitude and willingness to contribute.
The 26-year-old found the net in City’s 2–0 EFL Cup semi-final first-leg victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park, giving the defending champions a crucial away advantage.
His sharp movement and composure troubled Newcastle throughout, underlining why City moved quickly to secure his services.
“He looks not just a very good player but also a very good guy, which fits right in with the team. He is a fantastic guy who wants to help us. Hopefully, he can keep going.”
Semenyo’s impact has been immediate. Just days earlier, he marked his competitive debut with a goal and an assist in the FA Cup rout of Exeter City.
His goal in the Carabao means Semenyo becomes the first City player to score in each of his first two appearances since Emmanuel Adebayor in 2009.
Confidence is clearly building, and with a trip to Old Trafford next, the in-form forward will relish another chance to shine.
