Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, the Burniton Music Group’s public relations officer, said that Stonebwoy’s Afcon Fan Zone concert, which was supposed to take place on January 8 in Tangier, Morocco, had to be postponed because of technical difficulties.
Speaking on Onua Showbiz with Nana Kwame Gyan last Saturday, she clarified that Stonebwoy and his crew were ready to play following a successful sound check on the day, but they were told a few minutes before the planned performance time that they needed to postpone due to technical difficulties.
“Stonebwoy went to do his sound check on the day after arriving in Morocco, and there are videos online to attest to that,” she explained.
He then returned to his hotel to get ready for the show. We were told to wait while we were waiting to be summoned to the stage because there were some technological issues, she claimed.
She continued by saying that the organizers subsequently told them that the show could not continue since the technological problems persisted.
“We still didn’t receive the start even after our allotted performance time had passed. We then learned that the difficulties were still present, so we had to reschedule our performance,” she continued.
However, she said that Stonebwoy and the crew are in negotiations with the organizers to make sure the performance happens, even if it means moving the venue to provide the audience with an amazing experience.
