Mahama names Baba Sadiq as Ghana’s High Commissioner Designate to Nigeria

President John Dramani Mahama has named Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu as Ghana’s High Commissioner-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The appointment followed Baba Jamal’s recall when he opted to run in the Ayawaso East by-election following the death of Nasser Mahama Toure, a Member of Parliament.

The appointment was announced in a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, March 1.

Baba Sadiq, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central in the 2024 general election, is anticipated to defend Ghana’s interests in Nigeria while also working to develop diplomatic and economic connections between the two nations.
